Nashville Predators | Michael McCarron reinstated after admission to NHL aid program

(Toronto) Nashville Predators forward Michael McCarron is back with the team after going through the NHL and Players Association (NHLPA) assistance program.

The athlete signed up for the program on December 11 for unknown reasons.

The NHL and the NHLPA launched the assistance program in 1996, giving players access to a confidential hotline and counselors in every league city. The jointly funded program helps players and their families with mental health, substance abuse or other difficulties.

McCarron, a native of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, has one goal and one assist, as well as 21 shots on goal in 15 games this season.
