FC Nantes (17th) is playing its survival in the elite, Saturday June 3, on the occasion of the last day of Ligue 1. The Canaries must at all costs beat Angers, sure to finish last, and hope that Auxerre ( 16th) does not beat Lens, guaranteed to finish 2nd. AJA is indeed the direct opponent of Nantes in this distance duel, but has the hand with two more points in the standings before this last day.
The other major issue concerns the race for European places. Lille (4th) is best placed to play in the next Europa League, but must finish the job in Troyes, already relegated. Otherwise, Rennes (5th) lies in ambush. Bruno Génésio’s players are moving to Brest and will defend there, at least, their place in the Europa League Conference. This is also coveted by Monaco (6th), which receives Toulouse.
