Nantes native Quentin Merlin transferred to Olympique de Marseille for nearly 12 million euros

The defender is signing up for just over four seasons.

FC Nantes defender Quentin Merlin will join Olympique de Marseille, Radio France sports management learned from a source close to the player’s entourage on Friday January 26, confirming information from the daily The Team.

The 21-year-old player will sign up, after his medical examination on Friday, for a period of four and a half seasons. The transfer is around 12 million euros.

Trained at FC Nantes, Quentin Merlin has been playing with the first team since 2021 and he won the 2022 Coupe de France. The French Espoirs international is the third Marseille recruit after the Swiss Ulysse Garcia and the Cameroonian Faris Moumbagna.
