A meeting was held Thursday between the CNESST and various partners to address concerns about the safety of healthcare workers in the face of the recent explosion in COVID-19 cases and the spread of the Omicron variant.

“The CNESST is sensitive to the reality of health workers who are currently not required to wear an N-95 mask, because they are outside lukewarm or hot areas, but provide care in more severe situations. at risk, ”said the organization in a press release.

The CNESST has therefore called for the extension of the use of these masks to workers “in the most risky situations, including certain situations in cold areas”.

The wearing of the N-95 mask for health personnel located in hot zones had been requested in February 2021 by the CNESST, a requirement which was extended a month later in lukewarm zones.
