Mystery solved: McCartney’s bass found

Sir Paul McCartney’s bass acquired in 1961 at the very beginning of the Beatlesmania was returned to him after 50 years of absence.

The news was announced two weeks ago on the artist’s website. The Höfner 500/1 bass guitar, which can be heard on recordings of songs such as Love Me Do, Twist and Shout Or Let It Be, was stolen in 1972 from a lorry in Notting Hill, London. She played an important role in the history of the Beatles.
