Marne: mysterious poisonings in a town since May 30
Marne: mysterious poisonings in a town since May 30
(France 2)

In the town of Fère-Champenoise, in Marne, nine kindergarten students and three adults had to be hospitalized after feeling unwell. This is the third time since May that this has happened, without us knowing the origin of these poisonings.

The mystery continues to shroud a small town in the Marne. After spending an hour on a playground, late in the morning, this Thursday, June 20, nine children, aged 5 to 6, and three adults suffered from headaches and nausea. The eight schoolchildren were placed on oxygen. In the town, the parents of students are in turn worried about their children. Between May 30 and June 4, around thirty children and adults also experienced headaches and vomiting. Five of them relapsed a week later.

And the same nagging question, still, for the moment, unanswered: why? Food poisoning and carbon monoxide poisoning were ruled out, as was contamination by water. Acetylene was detected in the elementary school playground, but the link has not been established. The mayor noticed that poisonings always occur after the rain has passed.
