Myriam Fehmiu replaces Denis Gagné at “The grocery store”

Myriam Fehmiu will join Johane Despins to co-host the magazine The grocery store this fall on ICI Télé. The host and journalist will take over from Denis Gagné, who announced his departure last winter after having held this position for 20 years.

” More than ever, The grocery store has become an essential service, and it warms my heart to know that I will be able to inform you, help you make informed food choices and also [vous faire] share our gourmet finds, ”said Myriam Fehmiu in a video announcing her appointment broadcast on social networks on Monday.

She said she wanted to “perpetuate the rigor and passion” that Denis Gagné has instilled in the show since its creation in 2002.

“The curiosity, energy and openness to the world that characterize the work of Myriam Fehmiu are undeniable assets to ensure, alongside Johane Despins, the continued success of this highly relevant program”, underlined for its part, the Director General of Information at Radio-Canada, Luce Julien, in a press release, stating that the program attracts an average of one million viewers each week on ICI Télé and ICI RDI.

A journalist since 2010, Myriam Fehmiu was already speaking on the public broadcaster’s radio on issues related to the arts, culture and social issues. In particular, she hosted the morning show on Radio-Canada Colombie-Britannique and piloted several programs on ICI Musique, including A morning like no other and Rapophony. She was also a host and columnist on TV5, TV5 Monde, Télé-Québec, MAtv, Voir and Savoir Média.

Johanne Despins and Myriam Fehmiu will host their very first show together on Wednesday, September 14 at 7:30 p.m. on ICI Télé.
