Mylène Demongeot talks about her new fight against cancer at 87

Since 2019, Mylène Demongeot has been fighting against the disease and more specifically against cancer of the peritoneum. The actress of “Camping” had revealed in the press to have come out of it thanks to a heavy treatment which generated major side effects: “It was awful. I had it very badly. After the first sessions of chemo, my hair started to fall out in handfuls, if you had seen that, it was abominable” she confided in the columns of France Sunday.

And it is to the same magazine that she decided to confide this Friday, October 7, 2022 about these new chemotherapy sessions … since the actress who has just celebrated her 87th birthday must face the return of her cancer : “I’m experimenting above all with a new protocol to treat this damn cancer which has recurred” she explained. “It’s a process [l’immunothérapie, ndlr] which apparently works wonders – I know at least four people who are completely cured thanks to this – and above all that does not exhaust you like chemo”.

Despite the fatigue, the actress continues to hang on: “So I’m crossing my fingers. I would very much like it to work, to stop relapsing every six months. Because I swear to you, it’s unbearable!” Faced with the optimism of her doctors, Mylène Demongeot expresses her enthusiasm: “It’s a younger and much less invasive technique, with fewer side effects. Above all, we have very good feedback, so yes, I’m full of ‘hope !” And to add: I refuse to let myself down, it would be him [le cancer, ndlr] let the game win and it’s out of the question. I will fight until the end! I can’t die…”
