Married to the former journalist turned producer, Mélissa Theuriau, since 2008, Jamel Debbouze is the happy father of two children, Léon, born in 2008 and Lila, in 2011. And while he has to manage a career on all fronts, the comedian imposed a few rules on himself to be around them.
“My specialty is bolo spaghetti.”
He confided to Gala, this March 21, 2024: “As a general rule, I don’t work on weekends or during school holidays, and I’m at home every evening. I’m a real family man who cooks”. And even added: “My specialty is bolo spaghetti.”. As proof that he’s not bluffing, the star of “Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra” explain : “It takes more time than you think because you have to get the sauce out!”
Furthermore, to delight his family, Jamel Debbouze also knows how to prepare slightly more healthy dishes. He reports thus: “I also make every possible salad imaginable. Salad is improvisation“. And to those who wonder where he gets such skills from, in the kitchen, Jamel Debbouze proudly responds: “Remember that I am the eldest of three brothers and two sisters. My father worked nights, my mother all the time. I was the one who took care of the bowl at home.”
“Mélissa is a step ahead in sharing tasks“
However, for the filming of “Terminal”, the new series that he prepared with his former sidekick from the series H, Ramzy Bedia, Jamel Debbouze was forced to break his rules. He assumes thus: “Well, I admit: today, because of this shoot, Mélissa has a head start on sharing the tasks“.
