She is back in dark rooms, but as a director! In 2023, Victoria Bedos signs her very first film entitled “The most beautiful to go dancing”. A fiction that the actress came to defend on the set of Laurent Ruquier in “Club Première”. Indeed, via an Instagram post, the channel Paris Premiere unveiled an excerpt from the program which will be broadcast on Wednesday April 13 and in which the screenwriter of “La Famille Bélier” evokes his inspirations for this feature film.
“Yes, it’s a bit inspired by my story. I speak of the intimate, of what I know. As an author, it’s easier to tell something you know. I was inspired by my shitty teenage years that I didn’t totally love”confides in particular Victoria Bedos during the show.

“An Absent-Present Father”
“Your dad, Guy Bedos, was perhaps more often on stage and performing than taking care of you”then launches Laurent Ruquier. “He was an absent-present father. He was absent indeed, but when he was there. It’s sometimes better than a father who is there all the time, while not being there in his head, “ Then replies the sister of Nicolas Bedos who subsequently drew a parallel between his father and the role of Philippe Katerine who plays the father of his film.
“He’s not a bad father, Philippe Katerine is a clumsy father who is terrified at the idea of his daughter growing up and becoming a woman. It’s something that bothers him. He doesn’t know what to do because there is no mum, the mum has left…”, then launches the director.
As a reminder, “La plus belle pour aller danser” tells the story of a 14-year-old girl raised by her father in a happy boarding house for seniors of which he is the director. A schoolgirl who does not hesitate to challenge the authority of her father when he forbids her to go to a fancy dress party… Pushed by her 80-year-old best friend, Albert, the young girl is embedded elsewhere dressed as a man! And of course, at home, the relationship with his father is complicated… A film to discover in theaters from April 19, 2023.
