“My probity, my patriotism and my integrity on questions of interference are total”supports Friday April 12 on France Inter Jordan Bardella, head of the National Rally list in the European elections.

Invited to debate with Raphaël Glucksmann, head of the PS-Place Publique list, the latter then confronts him with his various votes in the European Parliament, in particular against Russian sanctions on energy. Jordan Bardella insists he takes responsibility for his decisions. He replies that these sanctions “enriched Russia”. He rather pleads for the establishment of “sanctions that work” as “on semiconductors or on oligarchs”.

The president of the RN denies any interference in favor of Russia, and claims to have “always had a very clear opposition to the conflict” in Ukraine. He thus ensures that in the European Parliament, he “denounces Russia as a multidimensional threat to our society.” He thus says he is in favor of sending “of defense equipment to enable Ukraine to hold the front”. But the RN MEP pleads for “prudence” so that the “decisions taken by France do not call into question our collective security and do not lead to escalation with a nuclear power”. Jordan Bardella protests against “moral lessons on interference”. “I’m starting to get a little fed up”he says.

“Raphaël Glucksmann and his socialist friends, a transmission belt for foreign interests”

The president of the RN accuses “Raphaël Glucksmann and his socialist friends in the European Parliament” to be “the transmission belt of foreign interests within the European institutions”. He thus asserts that Raphaël Glucksmann “worked on behalf of foreign governments”evoking in particular “the Georgian president” Mikheil Saakashvili for whom the head of the PS and Place publique list was an advisor between 2009 and 2013. Raphaël Glucksmann replies that he “alert about the risk of Vladimir Putin in Georgia” at that time.

Jordan Bardella then mentions another case, the “Qatargate”, in which Eva Kaili, former socialist vice-president of the European Parliament, is suspected of having received large sums of cash in exchange for interventions favorable to Qatar. Here too, Raphaël Glucksmann defends himself and responds that he “conducted the investigation against” the Greek MEP.
