“My beloved daughter-in-law”, Charles III makes a tender and rare declaration to Kate Middleton

After a stay in Paris last September, King Charles III is currently on an official trip to Kenya, the first as monarch. This Tuesday, October 31, 2023, the son of Queen Elizabeth II attended a state dinner organized in his honor in Nairobi, by Kenyan President William Ruto. Charles III took advantage of this evening to deliver a poignant speech on the British colonization committed against Kenyans decades ago.

Heinous and unjustifiable acts of violence were committed against Kenyans as they carried out […] a painful struggle for independence and sovereignty” recognized the father of princes William and Harry by certifying that the country can “have no excuse” for the atrocities committed.

King Charles III then showed his love for the country by recalling that his mother, Queen Elizabeth II was in Kenya when she learned of the death of her own father, King George VI. “It is well known, I think, that my dear mother, the late Queen, had a special affection for Kenya and the Kenyan people. She arrived here in 1952 as a Princess, but left as Queen” he pointed out.

“It is extremely moving to read in her accounts of this visit that she did not want to miss a moment of the extraordinary landscapes of Kenya. I really cannot thank you enough for the support that Kenya has given her brought during this difficult time”.

Against all expectations, the monarch then spoke of his daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton. Charles III recalled that it was also in Kenya that his son, Prince William proposed in 2010. “It was here, within sight of Mount Kenya, that my son, the Prince of Wales, proposed to his wife, now my beloved daughter-in-law.” did he declare.
