Michel Sardou is about to begin a whole new chapter in his life. At 77 years old, the artist leaves “retired”. “I’m stopping after my tour”, he confided this Wednesday March 13, 2024 in the columns of Parisian. “I sold everything, Paris, Normandy. I’m going to the South. My wife is already there”, added the singer. But before definitively drawing a line under his career, the interpreter of Connemara Lakes will be, this Saturday March 16 and Sunday March 17, on the stage of La Defense Arena. A show that doesn’t scare him.
“I will go and see first if the setting I have in my head is feasible. I’ve never seen a show in this room. I imagined a very special show in three dimensions and a round stage with 360° screens… But we’ll get through it, it looks like it’s going well… And whether we sing in front of 1,000, 10,000 or 100,000, we only see three rows. I never had stage fright. And then I have already done central scenes, at Bercy, in Montreal. Anyway, it doesn’t scare me any more than the Olympia.” he explained to our colleagues.

“I am a special singer”
A few days before the grand finale, Michel Sardou fully intends to face his audience solo. No question for Johnny Hallyday’s former sidekick to share his microphone. “My audience doesn’t like duets“, he even assured before attacking one of the most famous artists in the world. “I’ve done I will love you with Celine Dion in Canada, and even her… I’m a special singer“. Words that may not please the mother of René Charles, Nelson and Eddy.
Exit this experience on the stage of the largest indoor hall in Europe. Michel Sardou should live a peaceful existence far from the capital.
