In France, nearly 35 million people are protected by mutual insurance, whose prices will increase significantly in 2024. Some have then decided to revise their guarantees downwards.
After food and energy, health spending is exploding. In 2024, treatment will cost significantly more. Near Montpellier (Hérault), Rémi Altina’s monthly payments increase from 230 to 332 euros. “An increase of 28%, I found it unpredictable and aberrant”explains this father of three children, who therefore brought in the competition. “In two days, I was able to change mutual insurance with a similar level of guarantee but returning to the level of contributions that I had last year”he continues.
Glasses less well reimbursed
Mutual insurance prices increase by 8.1% on average. For Maxime Barbara-Touré, the price increases by 12%. To save money, this young sports coach is reducing his guarantees: glasses will be less reimbursed. More than one in two French people is protected by mutual insurance, or 35 million people.
