Respecting the environment and limiting the carbon footprint: this is the promise of the We Love Green festival, which opened its doors on Friday June 2 in the Bois de Vincennes. The festival communicates on 100% vegetarian food.
A jubilant public, flower crown on the head and smiles on the lips. In this festival, we find neither plastics, nor meat. We Love Green aims to reduce its carbon footprint as much as possible. Behind the scenes, energy consumption is carefully studied. “You have 120 solar panels that produce electricity”says Marianne Hocquart, Sustainable Development Director. The objective is to produce 10% of the festival’s energy consumption.
100% vegetarian this year
To reduce its carbon footprint, the festival becomes 100% vegetarian this year. Even omnivores are convinced. “We’re getting used to this kind of offer, and it pushes us”, explains a festival-goer. On the stage, certain artists are encouraged not to exceed a quota of emissions. Some even have made a commitment to favor the train instead of the plane, for example. Despite these efforts, the festival would disturb the birds for three days.
