(Paris) Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter got people dancing this summer: these three Americans under 30 are back, still well placed, in the rankings of music platforms surveyed by AFP on Friday.
Billie Eilish, with Birds of a feathertops the global summer listening charts on Spotify, the world’s leading music streaming platform. The 22-year-old Californian becomes the “most listened to artist on Spotify with over 100 million monthly listeners.”
Billie Eilish is also in 3e position, with the same title, in the world ranking on Apple Music and in 3e position with Lunch on Qobuz, a platform that aims to be more demanding in terms of sound resolution and editorial line (genres less in vogue than pop and rap are pushed forward, such as jazz: Pat Metheny is thus the first single listened to this summer with MoonDial). Billie Eilish could even gain new listeners, slipping to 5e rank on Shazam, an application to identify a song.
Summer also rhymed with Sabrina Carpenter (25) and Chappell Roan (26). The first is 4e of top world of Spotify with Espresso1D on Deezer, and offers a double in the top 10 from Apple Music, with the 5e and 6e positions, thanks respectively to Please please please and the previously mentioned piece. Espresso is also 7e at Qobuz.
As for Chappell Roan, she is 2e of top Spotify world with Hot to go and 8e on Apple Music with Good luck, babe!.
Two Americans then stand out, Kendrick Lamar (37 years old) and Shaboozey (29 years old). The first is at the top of the Apple Music ranking and 3e from the Spotify world ranking with Not like us. Shaboozey is second on Apple Music and 5e on Spotify with A bar song (Tipsy).
