Which song was the most listened to in Quebec in 2023? Which artists have played most often on your favorite music platform? Data published Tuesday morning by the Observatoire de la culture et des communications du Québec provide us with the answers. The newspaper broke this down for you.

Taylor Swift dominates

It was everywhere and Quebec was no exception. Who other than Taylor Swift, the absolute queen of pop music, could top the list of performers with the most streams in our country in 2023? Rapper Drake, champion in 2022, could only bow to the one who will fill the Rogers Center in Toronto six times in November 2024.

Country darlings

Country music is on the rise in Quebec and we even have some favorites. Morgan Wallen (3e), Luke Combs (4e) and Zach Bryan (10e) all finished the year in the top 10 of the most listened to artists. Better still, four of their songs rank among the 20 most popular, Last Nightfrom Wallen, even getting on the podium thanks to a 3e place. In 2022, no country songs appeared on the charts.

The Cowboys Fringants on the rise

For reasons we know, Les Cowboys Fringants made headlines like never before. Result: in one year, the group went from 15e at 6e rank of the most listened to artists. Taking into account the fact that Karl Tremblay died on November 15 and that the data from the firm Luminate Data was compiled between December 30, 2022 and November 30, 2023, we can bet that the Cowboys will gain a few levels when the results of the full year will be revealed later in 2024.

Unbreakable Charlotte Cardin

Charlotte Cardin is another who has Quebec at her feet and she is now impossible to dislodge from the end-of-year charts.
