“Music For Pools”, Alaska | The duty

Let’s rely on this new EP to revel in a good dose of refreshment, more than necessary in this scorching season! Music for Pools d’Alaaska, the solo musical project of Frenchman Jérôme Plasseraud, is an excellent mini album of instrumental pop, a bit psychedelic and undulating, perfect for relaxing with your feet in the chlorinated water in the shade of an umbrella. If pieces like bangkok, Music for Pools And Ze are reminiscent of the resplendent atmosphere of artists like Khruangbin, with their rather surf/funk influence made in texas, Naomi And Philicorda are titles that reflect a very special identity, specific to Alaaska, where dry guitars, organs and keyboards sometimes resonate dreamy. With slowness and euphoria, Music for Pools therefore smells good of summer and the state of idleness that accompanies it. We also dream of seeing an Alaaska performance on the outdoor stage of a festival, somewhere near an exotic sea as the sun nonchalantly sets on a torrid beach…
