First round matches continue on the courts of All England Club. Tuesday, July 2, the second day of Wimbledon opens. And all eyes should be on Novak Djokovic. The 2023 finalist, back on the courts three weeks after a meniscus operation, is up against the Czech Vit Kopriva, 123rd in the world. Among the stars of the world circuit, Alexander Zverev, recent finalist at Roland Garros, Iga Swiatek, world number 1 and Elena Rybakina, winner at Wimbledon in 2022, are also launching their tournaments.
On the French side, today’s matches promise to be tough. Constant Lestienne will face Italian Lorenzo Musetti, world number 25, while Arthur Rinderknech will face former world number 4, Kei Nishikori. French number 1, Caroline Garcia, will have to be wary of Russian Anna Blinkova (number 66). In total, eight French players will be on the courts.
