Murders of Daniel Langlois and his wife: a fourth suspect arrested in the case

Authorities on the island of Dominica announced Monday morning that they had arrested a fourth suspect in the case. of the murders of Quebec entrepreneur Daniel Langlois and his wife, Dominique Marchandwhich occurred in recent days in the Caribbean.

“Four persons of interest are in custody. One local person, and three foreigners,” confirmed Rayburn Blackmore, Minister of National Security, Monday morning in a statement sent to the media, concerning the investigation following the deaths of the two Quebecers.

“This type of crime and the brutality of this crime is something we cannot ignore, and we cannot tolerate those who committed it not being brought to justice,” he continued.

The investigation into the death of the co-owners of Coulibri Ridge, an ecological hotel complex, began on 1^er last December.

Around 7 a.m., their bodies were found in a vehicle that had been set on fire in Dominica.

The authorities could have identified the Quebecers using circumstantial evidence.

Since then, four people have been arrested by Dominican authorities.

According to our information, one of them is the American Jonathan Lehrer, owner of the estate located right next to that of the victims.

The latter was in conflict with Mr. Langlois and his wife over a right of way on his land, according to court documents consulted by The newspaper.

The involvement of a hitman would only be speculation at this stage of the investigation, said a police source.

Furthermore, the Minister of National Security affirmed that the authorities would provide updates as soon as they had the opportunity, and that this type of crime was harmful to international relations.

Daniel Langlois was a notable figure in cinema both in Quebec and abroad.
