A few minutes before the murder of Patricia Sirois in Saint-Raymond de Portneuf, a neighbor claims to have been questioned by the accused Martin Lévesque and his spouse in what looked like a “roadblock” which made him freak.

Called to the witness stand at the Lévesque trial, Mathieu Boudreau said that he felt stared at and observed by Guylaine Laflamme, the accused’s spouse, when he was driving in front of their home on rue Marlène. to go make a commission, September 10, 2021.
Finding her behavior strange, he stopped to “[s’]make sure everything is correct. According to him, the woman, who appeared to be in a “seriously intoxicated state”, approached from the passenger side; she wanted to know what he was “doing there”, “where” he came from.
Then, Martin Lévesque, who was also “intoxicated by alcohol”, appeared “suddenly”, on the driver’s side.
Paranoia
He sensed tension and paranoia in the air. “It was immediately obvious that the two were in collusion. There was a kind of intention to investigate. It’s as if it were a roadblock”, described the citizen in front of the 14 jurors.
“I felt more that it was an evaluation… it’s who is going to spend there that evening”, specified the witness.
Lévesque would have explained to him in a “soft” voice that “it is important that we know each other as neighbors, we are no longer in town here, we are in the countryside”, according to Mr. Boudreau.
At one point, Laflamme “mentioned a comment to the effect that ‘OK, he’s okay that guy […] but his girlfriend for example, I don’t like her, or something like that”, continued the resident, after which he “started to freak not worse”.
Eventually, Lévesque, a retired military man who pleads not criminally responsible on account of mental disorder, reportedly concluded the discussion and they shook hands.
A few minutes later, Patricia Sirois was killed in front of her children as she went to her residence.
Unexpectedly
Another resident of rue Marlène, Cédric Langevin, himself a soldier, testified at trial that Martin Lévesque came to visit him earlier that same evening.
The 50-year-old reportedly showed up unexpectedly on his land in order to get to know him and question him, in particular, about his career in the army.

Martin Lévesque was captured by a surveillance camera from one of his neighbors as he went to meet him at the end of the day on September 10, 2021 in Saint-Raymond de Portneuf.
According to him, Lévesque was calm and the conversation was cordial, but he appeared to be under the influence of medication and was sometimes difficult to understand.
He would have tried to discourage him from going on a mission to Latvia. “You don’t know it, but you won’t leave,” he allegedly told her enigmatically.
