The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) is carrying out nearly half a dozen searches in connection with the murder of Brendon Célestin, brother of gang leader Jean-Philippe Célestin, which occurred last February.
Searches carried out by the Major Crimes Section take place in Montreal, Brossard and Laval. The police operations are linked to the investigation into the murder of Brendon Célestin which occurred on February 17 in the borough of Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie, police confirmed.
The younger brother of the boss Jean-Philippe Célestin was shot dead after a family event held in a pizzeria, near Bellechasse and Saint-Denis streets. Around twenty shots were reportedly fired by the suspect(s), who fled before the authorities arrived.
Nearly a hundred personnel from the SPVM, but also from the Laval and Longueuil police, were mobilized Thursday morning.
“The criminal investigation is continuing and the SPVM will not provide additional details at this stage,” the police force said in a press release.
