A criminal past

On Friday morning, the police then confirmed that the victim would not be linked to organized crime. A little earlier, however, the authorities had mentioned that the young man was known to the police.

This is because Gabriel Lauzier had a history linked to the possession and distribution of drugs, but also to failure to comply with a promise made to the Court. At this stage of the investigation, it cannot be ruled out that the motive for the homicide was a drug transaction gone wrong, according to information obtained from police sources.

“An investigation is underway to determine the chronology of events as well as the nature of the altercation,” SPAL indicated in a brief press release, emphasizing that no arrest had yet been made in this case. The suspect(s) involved fled before the arrival of the first police officers.

Anyone with relevant information that could lead to the arrest of one or more suspects is invited to contact the SPAL anonymously, by calling 450-646-8500 or 911. The investigation will continue.
