Murder in Mercier | The Sûreté du Québec is looking for a 66-year-old man.

The Sûreté du Québec is asking for the public’s help in locating Normand Ladouceur, a 66-year-old man who is currently wanted in connection with the murder of Thérèse Desbiens, a septuagenarian found dead on Saturday in Mercier.

It was around 1 p.m. last Saturday that patrol officers from the City of Mercier Police Department were called to go to an apartment on rue Bourcier, for a person “found lifeless”.

On the spot, they located the body of Thérèse Desbiens, 77 years old. From the start, the file had been treated as a suspicious death and a command post had been erected on the scene. In particular, investigators and forensic technicians have been deployed.

The police say they have reason to believe today that it was a murder probably committed by Normand Ladouceur.

The latter is about 1.80 meters tall, the equivalent of 5 feet 11 inches, and weighs approximately 120 kilograms, or 264 pounds. He is bald, has brown eyes and a scar on his head. A photo of the principal concerned was provided to the media on Monday, in addition to an image of his car.
