Longueuil police have opened an investigation into the murder of an individual who was taken to hospital on Tuesday after being attacked with a knife.
“The victim was transported in the vehicle. This is the only information we have at the moment. We have the vehicle, but we don’t have a crime scene yet. This is what is special in this case, ”says François Boucher, spokesperson for the Longueuil agglomeration police department (SPAL).
Tuesday, around 1:30 p.m., the police force of the South Shore of Montreal was called by the personnel of the Charles-Le Moyne hospital, located in Greenfield Park, in order to investigate the nebulous arrival of a patient in poor condition.
The latter, a man in his forties, had been seriously injured with a knife. According to the SPAL, everything indicates that he was stabbed.
The victim, whom the SPAL managed to identify, passed away in the evening. An autopsy was to be performed.
According to initial information, the man had been transported by a citizen in a black four-door Subaru Impreza 2011 car. It was in the parking lot of the hospital center and was recovered by investigators.
“If you saw this vehicle going to the hospital, call us,” asks Sergeant Boucher. If the police were able to analyze this vehicle, they still have not identified the place where the crime would have been committed.
Nothing excluded
Steps to locate the crime scene were quickly undertaken on Monday and were still in progress on Tuesday.
“We are really trying to find out where the vehicle came from and what would have happened in the moments preceding the transport”, explains the publicist.
It is also not impossible that the armed attack on the victim took place outside the territory of the SPAL, specifies François Boucher.
“There is nothing that excludes it at the moment”, he specifies.
“Anyone with information about this murder is invited to contact us anonymously at 450 463-7211. An investigator will be at the end of the line, says the spokesperson. Any information could prove to be a vital part of the investigation. »
- The person who transported the victim to the hospital is, at this stage, considered a witness in this case.
