The body of Reuban Ntake, who was already known to the police, was discovered inside an apartment on Avenue Duranceau, near Rue des Érables, around 5:30 p.m. He was not transported to hospital – a death report was made on the scene by an Urgences-santé doctor.
The young man showed signs of violence on his upper body, mainly on his head. He was allegedly stabbed and brutally beaten, but due to the condition of his body, the exact cause of his death could not be determined prima facie. An autopsy will be necessary to better understand.
According to our information, his murder could be explained by his links with street gangs. Indeed, he would have been seen in a music video produced by a Pierrefonds gang. Lately, he would have been at the heart of significant tensions.
He had some criminal history, including records of drug possession and violating his release conditions.
A large crime scene was erected around the apartment building. A command post was also dispatched to the scene. The major police deployment lasted around twenty hours and ended Thursday morning, around 9 a.m.
This is 32e murder to occur in the territory of the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) since the beginning of the year.
