A municipal official from Chessy (Seine-et-Marne) was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention for rape and sexual assault, the Meaux prosecutor’s office announced on Tuesday, August 13. If a “multiple victims” has already been confirmed, their identification is still in progress and will be the subject of a judicial investigation, the same source explained.
The 47-year-old man, involved with the association Aide aux jeunes diabétiques (AJD), was taken into police custody on August 9 after the arrest in Lot-et-Garonne of a second man, also an employee of the AJD as a facilitator, for acts of sexual assault.
The local elected official, a member of the youth committee of the Chessy municipal council, was in charge of organizing vacation stays for minors who were members of the AJD, “one of the objectives of which was adaptation to the disease”explained the association’s lawyer, Hélène Lecat. “All necessary measures have been taken, namely the non-renewal of the contract” of the man arrested in Lot-et-Garonne, she added, specifying that “all necessary measures” would be taken against the municipal official “as the investigation progresses.”
Two complaints were filed against the host, the first by a participant in the AJD holiday camp, and the second by the legal representatives of a minor member. A second investigation was opened by the Agen public prosecutor’s office for “invasion of private privacy by image – voyeurism – possession and distribution of child pornography images”.
