Clément Beaune, former Minister of Transport and Member of Parliament for Paris, is counting on “give up nothing” of its “commitments” or his “ambitions for Paris”, he warned this Friday on franceinfo, as the municipal election battle for the Town Hall seat began. Rachida Dati, new Minister of Culture, does not hide her ambition to become mayor of Paris in 2026.

“I am a member of parliament for Paris. I have more time today to devote myself to it and I intend to devote myself to it and not give up any of my commitments or my ambitions for Paris”, declared the former Minister of Transport. He says he knows “energy” And the “commitment” by Rachida Dati “and that she is interested in Paris is not a scoop”he stressed.

“It will take a unique project and a unique candidate for the presidential majority”

Clément Beaune does not believe in a deal with Emmanuel Macron, the entry of Rachida Dati into the government against the bib of the presidential majority for the municipal elections in Paris. “I was a minister and I know the President of the Republic a little. When you receive a phone call, you say I have three conditions? I don’t think it works like that. And Rachida Dati knows it very well “he explained.

“It will take a unique project and a unique candidate for the presidential majority. While there are ambitions, there are others, those of Pierre-Yves Bournazel (“Together for Paris” list) are legitimate. then work together, but on the merits”, he continued. But “everything in its time, a lot can happen between now and 2026”he concluded.
