Four of them were rushed to hospital to receive appropriate treatment. Unfortunately, one of them died, Montreal police confirmed Thursday.
The file was transferred to the coroner.
The spokesperson for the official opposition on the fight against homelessness, Benoit Langevin for Ensemble Montréal, declared that “each time there is a death it is a failure of all levels of government “.
“We get elected to resolve issues. This issue has only increased over the last six years that I have been elected,” expresses Mr. Langevin with exasperation.
To this day, it is unknown what type of drug the six people used to overdose.
Public Health will investigate the causes of the woman’s death.
