At least four people were transported to hospital, including two in critical condition, following a series of overdoses that occurred in downtown Montreal on Sunday afternoon. Montreal police have opened an investigation.
The event occurred late in the afternoon at the corner of Saint-Dominique and Ontario. A security perimeter was established by the police between Ontario and Maisonneuve streets.
Urgence-Santé indicates that six people were treated on site for an episode of “intoxication”. Of these, four had to be transported to hospital, including two women whose lives were believed to be in danger.
