MP Alexandre Vincendet joins the Horizons group in the National Assembly after his definitive exclusion from the Les Républicains (LR) group, franceinfo learned from consistent sources on Tuesday March 19. The elected official from Rhône, fired for having supported Édouard Philippe, will therefore sit among the supporters of the mayor of Le Havre. The latter specifies that he will also join the party of the former Prime Minister “in the coming days”.

Alexandre Vincendet regrets his exclusion from the LR group. Decided by the executive office on March 6, it was made final by a second vote this Tuesday. This ballot was this time open to all LR deputies. There are 29 who voted for, 8 voted against, according to the count communicated to franceinfo by a source within the group. “Only 29 deputies voted for my exclusion, less than half of the 61 deputies [du groupe]. There is therefore a real political subject”observes the parliamentarian.

“I am really sad for my political family which is gradually embarking on the path to great stunting,” also declares Alexandre Vincendet. “The leaders are hiding their faces and I am sad at this drift for a political family to which I belonged for more than twenty years. It is little by little the end of internal democracy. Éric Ciotti [le président de LR] has also said ‘we debate too much in this political family’… quite a program”he concludes.
