Halloween weekend is here, with its decorations, “little monsters” and treats, but also its television offering to revel in horror dramas and comedies – classics and more recent discoveries.

The hungry

All honor, let’s start with Quebec filmmaker Robin Aubert and his “zombie film”. The hungry won eight Iris trophies at the Gala Québec Cinéma in 2018, including those for best film and best director.

The horror drama tells the story of an isolated village in northern Quebec where some residents start attacking their families and loved ones after an epidemic.

A few survivors will have to ally themselves to repel the hungry hordes.

In a cast that leaves nothing to be desired, Marc-André Grondin plays Bonin, who walks the country roads with Vézina, a character played by Didier Lucien.

They are joined by women who know how to handle the machete or the rifle – Pauline (Micheline Lanctôt), Thérèse (Marie-Ginette Guay), Tania (Monia Chokri) and Céline (Brigitte Poupart).

At Télé-Québec. Sunday, October 31, at 9:30 p.m.

And what about the tasty Christina Ricci, in the role of the gothic teenager Wednesday Addams, jealous and threatening to the place of the new baby of the family. In this horror drama by Neil Jordan, a vampire tells an interviewer about the events he experienced in the 19th century with two other vampires, a cynical dandy and a kid.

The film won MTV Movie Awards laurels for Brad Pitt for Best Actor and Kirsten Dunst for Female Revelation in 1995.
