Macabre discovery in Nepal. Three unidentified bodies were spotted by mountain guides in the Everest region, in the same area where three young French people had been missing since October 26. The three climbers had left to attack several high peaks of the massif before being swept away by an avalanche. Louis Pachoud, Gabriel Miloche and Thomas Arfi, were climbing the west face of Mingbo Eiger.

An international research team was quickly assembled. Alongside local sherpas are several experienced French mountain guides. The French Federation of Alpine and Mountain Clubs, for its part, wanted to be rather pessimistic, considering the hope of finding survivors almost nil. A helicopter has already been dispatched to recover the bodies and identify them.
