(Montreal) A 30-year-old woman was seriously injured in an attempted murder in Mount Royal on Monday evening.
Police responded after gunshots were heard near the intersection of Lucerne and Côte-de-Liesse Roads near the Metropolitan Highway at around 10:30 p.m.
Shots were fired in the direction of a vehicle from a suspicious vehicle, which then fled the scene, according to the first information collected by the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
The driver, a 30-year-old woman, was hit and injured in the upper body. She was transported to a hospital in critical condition, said SPVM spokesperson Mariane Allaire Morin.
One of the passengers in the vehicle reportedly left the scene before police arrived, while another passenger was not injured.
The SPVM protected the scene. An investigation is underway, with the assistance of the canine unit.
