(Montreal) A motorist suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital early Sunday afternoon, following a collision in Stoneham, in the Quebec region.
According to Officer Béatrice Dorsainville, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec, police officers from the MRC de la Jacques-Cartier were called to the scene of the head-on collision around 12:30 p.m.
The collision occurred between a vehicle, in which the injured woman was traveling, and a pick-up van in which there were two occupants. They were not injured, specifies Officer Dorsainville.
“The driver found herself stuck and suffered significant injuries,” added the police officer, who was however unable to specify the woman’s state of health.
The Tewkesbury Road, where the collision occurred, is closed to traffic while specialist reconstruction investigators can analyze the scene. Motorists are advised to take a detour until further notice.
