Motorist shot dead in Montreal

A woman was shot dead in her vehicle in the borough of Côte-Des-Neiges – Notre-Dame-De-Grâce, in Montreal, Tuesday afternoon.

The identity of the victim is not yet known to the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

The police were called around 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of rue Jean-Talon Ouest and rue de la Savane, in the Le Triangle sector.

The motorist had gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, said SPVM spokeswoman Sabrina Gauthier.

“When the victim was shot, his vehicle was in motion and collided with a building,” she said.

According to the first information gathered by the SPVM, a suspect shot at the victim before fleeing on foot.

Mme Gauthier points out that research is underway to locate the suspect and that witnesses are being interviewed by the police.

Major crime investigators and forensic identification technicians are continuing the investigation.
