A terrible drama in the middle of the Christmas parade. An SUV-type vehicle crashed into a crowd gathered in Waukesha, Wisconsin, United States on Sunday, November 21, causing “deaths” and more than 20 injured, police said. Local officials, for their part, announced that 11 adults and 12 children had been taken to hospital.
“The Christmas parade of Waukesha was taking place when SUV red knocked down the barriers on the west side to go to Main Streeet (the main street)”, has explained police chief Dan Thompson. “The car hit more than 20 people, some of them were children and there were injuries as a result of this incident,” he said again.
“Waukesha police have located a suspicious vehicle. An investigation is underway.”, said the chief of police, adding that the authorities had identified a person as part of this investigation. Police fired at the vehicle in an attempt to stop it, authorities also said.
US President Joe Biden has been briefed on this incident, the White House “Keeps herself informed of the situation in Waukesha and our hearts are broken in the face of all those who have been affected by this terrible incident”, specified an official of the American presidency.
