A three-year-old girl died on the night of Saturday September 23 to Sunday September 24 after being found covered in bruises at her home in Conches-en-Ouche (Eure), franceinfo learned Tuesday September 26 from the public prosecutor from Evreux, Rémi Coutin, confirming information from Paris-Normandy.
It was the emergency services who discovered the child after being called for a cardio-respiratory arrest. According to the public prosecutor, they found the three-year-old girl “covered in bruises”. She was transported to the Charles-Nicolle University Hospital in Rouen (Seine-Maritime) where she died in the night.
Absent from school for “at least a week”
The mother and stepfather of this little girl were placed in police custody, suspected of having beaten the three-year-old girl to death, indicates the Evreux prosecutor’s office. The Évreux public prosecutor will hold a press conference on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
