The year got off to a bad start on the roads of Cher. Three people have already lost their lives since January 1, 2022, compared to one last year at the same period. These are each accidents with a single car involved, that happened at nightand in the gendarmerie zone, according to the prefecture which draws up an initial assessment.
Young victims
The victims of these three accidents have in common a relatively young age: 21, 33 and 35 years old. According to the prefect of Cher, the main causes of these accidents are speed, alcohol, and narcotics. The state representative calls in a statement “to the greatest vigilance and compliance with road safety rules“.
The results are very unfavorable, moreover the first of these three fatal accidents had taken place at the beginning of the year, on New Year’s Eve. The passenger of a vehicle had lost his life after going off the road. The driver was drunk, and admitted to having consumed narcotics.
