(Toronto) Morgan Rielly scored his first goal of the season, the game-winner, as the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Washington Capitals 5-1 on Sunday night.
Michael Bunting, who added an assist, William Nylander, Pierre Engvall and Zach Aston-Reese also scored for the Maple Leafs.
Ilya Samsonov made 23 saves in his sixth straight start for Toronto.
Nicklas Backstrom also scored his first goal of the campaign for the Capitals.
Darcy Kuemper allowed four goals on 20 shots before being replaced by Charlie Lindgren. The latter repelled six pucks for the formation of Washington.
Maple Leafs captain John Tavares played in the 1,000e game of his NHL career and was honored by the team prior to the game.
