In 2023, car thefts increased by 11.1% compared to the previous year. International criminal networks are organizing to steal these vehicles.
Increasingly discreet, rapid and sometimes even without break-ins, car thefts are increasing. In a few seconds, a couple’s vehicle disappeared in front of their home. The Clio IV is the most popular model among criminals. According to insurance body Argos, more than 70,000 thefts were reported in 2023, an increase of 11.1% compared to the previous year.
More than six out of ten vehicles are not found
In a video of a theft, a man captures the signal from an electronic key inside a house and his accomplice can open the vehicle and start it. International criminal networks are behind these thefts and the stolen vehicles are exported in containers to Africa. To protect yourself, there are different security systems, such as a GPS tracker. Just hide it in a car so you don’t lose track of it. According to the Argos insurance organization, more than six out of ten vehicles are never found by their owner.
