A state of siege has been implemented in Gaza by Israel, causing the population to live in fear and scarcity. Many Gazans are forced to flee
More than a tenth of the population of the Gaza Strip, 330,000 people in total, have had to leave their homes since Saturday October 7. The Israeli Air Force says it bombed more than 500 positions. The complete siege of the territory, prohibited by international law, continues. Impossible for humanitarian organizations to supply the territory via Rafah, the only crossing point not controlled by Israel.
Apartment buildings are also hit
“I think the Palestinian healthcare system will collapse by the end of the week. (…) The bombings continue, more and more children are brought to the hospital“, warns Professor Ghassan Abu Sitta, surgeon at Shifa hospital (Gaza). The Israeli army says it is targeting military or terrorist targets, but urban density does not allow them to be differentiated from residential buildings. Gazans are deprived of water, gas and electricity until the hostages are freed.
