“More than 20,000 wounded remain in Gaza,” deplores Doctors Without Borders

Despite the first evacuations of the wounded, the health situation remains serious in the Gaza Strip. “More than 20,000 injured remain in Gaza, with limited access to health care due to the siege and constant bombing” of the Israeli army, estimated Wednesday, November 2, the humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders. According to an Egyptian official, 76 wounded Palestinians and 335 foreigners and dual nationals were able to leave Gaza on Wednesday, during a first evacuation operation since the start of the war. Joe Biden calls for a “pause” in the conflict. The American president said on Wednesday that he was in favor of a “break” in the war in order to allow “prisoners” to leave the enclave. The White House, when asked about these comments, clarified that the president was referring to hostages from the Islamist movement Hamas. Washington has so far refused to discuss a ceasefire, believing that this would exclusively play into the hands of Hamas, but has already called for “humanitarian breaks” to enable aid to be delivered or evacuations to be carried out.
