Across Quebec, the cinematographic event selected 60 Quebec shorts, including beautiful riverdocumentary shot in Louisiana by Yannick Nolin, Guillaume Fournier and Samuel Matteau. Marco & Polo Go Roundan animated film by Benjamin Steiger Levin with the voices of Léane Labrèche-Dor and Emmanuel Schwartz, is also attracting attention, among other things because it will be offered in virtual reality.

In total, 66 films will be presented in official competition, including 13 premieres that will be eligible for the Canadian Grand Prix and 13 international newcomers for the Grand Prix. The jury is made up of Ladj Ly, Éric Piccoli, Martine Francke, Larissa Corriveau, Marco De Blois and Mustapha Fahmi.

Overseas, the festival team interests us in Warshaw, a France-Lebanon co-production. “A thriller from Dania Bdeir to the grandiose final, which began its journey at Sundance in January and which won the Prize for the best international fiction”, recall the organizers. About fifty countries will be represented in one or other of the screenings at REGARD.

A parallel competition, thematic programs, a youth program, the Marché du court and a film lesson with Stéphane Lafleur will also be on the agenda for moviegoers and professionals from March 23 to 27.

The event will continue online until April 10 via the REGARD online platform.
