“The fire started around 6:20 p.m. on Thursday August 4explains the mayor of Neuilly-sur-Marne, Zarthoste Bakhtiari. It all started from one photocopier located on the first floor of a warehouse, it began to burn.” On this floor is the Wego board company, a company specializing in urban mobility. The photocopier was placed right next to a storage of more than 1000 electric scooters.

On the spot, 43 machines and 138 firefighters are engaged, from the barracks of Nogent-sur-Marne, Neuilly-sur-Marne or Paris.
When the fire broke out, seven employees started using the extinguishers. There were not many people in the building and no casualties were reported.
Impacts around
On the ground floor of this warehouse is another company, Maco textile. More 1,000 m2 are impacted were affected by the fire.
The building being located in an industrial zone, certain accesses to the zone were blocked with the intervention of the fire brigade. “A few people who worked in the sector could not leave by car and had to take public transport to get home”says the mayor of the city.
The black smoke has calmed down, no risk of toxicity was notified for residents.
