While purchasing power is at the heart of French people’s concerns, they are increasingly turning to anti-waste applications and price comparisons.

One item of expenditure particularly worries the French. It is that of food products whose prices are rising. So to help you, there are now applications to spend less and take advantage of good deals. The number of users has exploded lately. “More and more people are getting what’s left over for breakfast”, explains a manager of a hotel who sees the French come to collect pastries thanks to the applications Too good to go and Phenix. They make it possible to buy unsold items at a lower cost.

Originally, these applications made it possible not to throw away. But now, many French people see another interest in it. “It’s also for economic reasons, because you can still have a fairly large shopping bag”, explains a young woman from Toulouse. A dozen applications of this type exist today, but several major brands have announced the creation of their own platform in the coming months.
