Ramps, changing rooms and even showers have been designed to facilitate access for people with disabilities. “We don’t go everywhere, because my husband can’t do anything”says a woman.

133 labeled beaches

“It helps me a lot, I feel like I’m almost still valid”, reacts a man. The beaches can obtain the “Handiplage” certification, a label that works in stages, from 1 to 4 depending on the number of facilities made. Of 2,600 beaches in France, 133 have received this certification, i.e. 5% of coastal beaches. That’s ten more than last year.
