Two big fires are underway in Saint-Philibert and La Trinité-sur-mer, near Carnac in Morbihan. The first fire started at the beginning of the afternoon behind the beach of Men er Belech, in Saint-Philibert. The image seen from a webcam placed on the port of La Trinité-sur-mer is striking. The second declared himself at a place called Kermarquer. Significant means, on water, on land and in the air are on site to contain these fires.
A major wildfire broke out in the early afternoon in Saint-Philibert, between Carnac and Locmariaquer in Morbihan, behind Men er Belech beach.
From the beaches, very busy on this weekend in August, and the neighboring ports, or from the open sea, the spreading column of smoke is impressive.
Civil security dragon 56 flies over the area. Significant resources are deployed on site by firefighters to contain the fire, which threatens many homes. A housing estate of 15 houses, at a place called Kernevest, was evacuated.

83 machines and 250 firefighters are at work this Saturday afternoon August 6 in Morbihan. The SDIS56 requested the reinforcement of firefighters from Loire-Atlantique.

About an hour later, another column of smoke rose above the beaches in the area. Another fire broke out at a place called Kermarquer.
Already, this Friday, August 5, a fire had broken out at a place called Chat-Noir, in Saint-Philibert, in a field of harvested wheat. The firefighters of Carnac, Auray and Vannes had to intervene. Five people who had inhaled the smoke were taken to the scene for examinations.
