Morbihan and Finistère have been placed on orange alert for rain and flooding, Météo-France announces in its bulletin published Monday January 1 at 6 a.m. The episode should begin in the evening, from 10 p.m., with expected accumulations “between 40 and 60mm in the space of 24 hours”. The activity of this disturbance “will persist throughout the night as well as a good part of the day Tuesday, with continued rain generating significant accumulations”predicts Météo-France. These heavy rains could also affect Loire-Atlantique, Vendée, Mayenne, Orne and Manche.

Furthermore, Pas-de-Calais is maintained on orange alert for floods, on the Aa, the Hem, the Canche and La Lys-Amont and Laquette, but the “rain-flood” alert is temporarily lifted. Météo France claims to have noted over the last three hours “between 3 and 10 mm in the heaviest showers and often between 20 and 40 mm in the western half” of the department over the last 24 hours. However, further rain is expected at the start of the week, specifies Météo-France, while the hydrological context is already sensitive in this department.
