Be careful before eating your next raclette. Many batches of cheeses (raclette, tomme and morbier) manufactured by the company Route des terroirs are recalled by the authorities due to possible contamination with shigatoxigenic Escherichia coli bacteria. These cheeses are sold throughout France under different brands and presentations, according to the Rappel Conso website.

The batches of cheeses concerned include the wheel of Morbier AOP Maison du Gruyère sold by the cut, the “trio gourmand” raclette platter and the Tomme du Jura Juramonts.

Conso Recall recommends that you no longer consume these products, return them to the point of sale or destroy them. A refund will be made. “Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli can cause diarrhea, sometimes bloody, abdominal pain and vomiting, accompanied or not by fever, in the following week.”specify the authorities.
